Lichfield Cathedral

Posted on 23rd October 2017

Huge congratulations to everyone that took part in a truly memorable evening at the Great Music Share Experience on Thursday 12th October 2017.

Staffordshire Corps of Drums provided a powerful opening and music from the massed choir, made up of singers from Charnwood Primary School, Lichfield Cathedral School, St Joseph and St Theresa Roman Catholic Primary School and The Friary School celebrated the singing outreach partnership supported by Lichfield Cathedral.  Songwriter Dominic Malin and the Young Voices performed the Free Spirit song and the audience was entertained by drama and readings from King Edward VI, Lichfield and Shire Oak Academy. Liberty Arts performed a stunning dance, complete with beautiful costumes and Abbie came all the way from Ireland to read the poem “Let me Teach You”.  It was fantastic to see young people come together to give such confident, inspirational performances in such a wonderful setting.

Richard Davison gave an introduction to the Free Spirit project and Dr Graham Winton spoke about the role of the horse in World War 1.
Refreshments were provided by the Co-op.

Thank you to Lichfield Cathedral and to everyone that supported the evening.  The event raised over £2000 for the Free Spirit project.
